Tamburo Parlante - Documentation Centre

Established in 1993 in Umbria, the documentation Centre has come into being as a meeting point of different cultural activities aimed at a better understanding of the values and advantages offered by the multicultural reality of today Italian society.
The Centre's archives, which are open to the public, contain materials ranging from an analysis of the design of ethnographic museums in Europe (in particular in Italy) to the history of African art.
The research activity of the last years has resulted in an exhibition: Immagini & Colonie, at present circulating in Italy, based on a broad visual documentation of Italian colonialism.
The Centre has organised other exhibitions in Africa as well as in Europe: a presentation of them is here available.
The field researches of the Centre, conducted in East African countries as Ethiopia and Tanzania, are finalised to exhibitions and museographic co-operation with local institutions.
